I’ll Be Your Guide

But Why Me?

You’ve probably thought at some point, why Zaq? why not Jeff from down the road? What is it that Zaq provides that will make my EP experience so much better.

Because I write and produce music for a living, I get to meet loads of artists and I’ve definitely noticed some repeated themes when I ask them what they struggle with.

Maybe You Can Relate?

“It’s all good making music with my producer, but now it’s done I have to do everything else myself“

- An artist right now (probably)

Let me help

I understand that you put blood sweat and tears into your music so sometimes the business side can feel really overwhelming. That’s why I do what I call accountability calls so that I can continue to help keep you on track even after we have finished making some amazing music.

Maybe You Can Relate?

“Damn, I feel really disconnected from the production process, I sent off my demo and don’t really like what I got back“

- An artist right now (probably)

Let me help

I have always, and will always believe that music is a collaborative process. I love going back and forth, bouncing ideas off each other and helping push you further and get a product that not only sounds better, but also SOUNDS MORE YOU. When you work with me, Artist is King!

Maybe You Can Relate?

Releasing a Long Form Project is overwhelming and lonely, I barely get to focus on making music anymore“

- An artist right now (probably)

Let me help

Yes I like to think I am a pretty good music producer, but I’m also going to help you during every step of the process - All the way from creating reference playlists, to helping you upload to DSPs, to helping you plan and execute a strong release strategy.

Here’s How it Works…

The 4-step process to a great EP

1) Onboarding

Before we get to actually making music, I find it’s best to do a bit of pre planning. Not only will this help us get on the same page musically, it’ll also help define a clear direction for your sound and brand.

You’ll do these things:

  1. Complete a short branding exercise

  2. Complete our musical reference sheet

  3. Discuss the music you love, why you love it and what makes it effective

  4. Design an initial timeline so that we have an idea when we need to finish each stage

You’ll achieve these things:

  1. A clear idea of what your brand image is and how your EP will play and help push this image

  2. A clear idea of the musical direction for the EP

  3. A clear plan and timeline for how you are going to achieve the final goal of creating this amazing EP

2) Music Making

You love this part (I hope). during this stage we’ll focus all our energy on creating the absolute best tracks possible!

You’ll do these things:

  • Write 4-5 amazing songs that you love

  • Produce those songs to take them to create that sound you’ve been hearing in your head

  • Record amazing vocals that showcase your voice and writing

  • Record instruments you need. Provided by my network of super talented session musicians

  • Get them mixed and mastered by myself or one of the excellent engineers I work with

You’ll achieve these things:

  • A stunning EP that you’re proud to release into the world.

  • A developed and refined sound that really encapsulates you as an artist

  • An awesome feeling of achievement

3) Release Prep

Once we have finished the tracks, you might think this is where a producers job ends, but no. I have set up a system where I can help you set clear goals and help you stick to them, I call it “accountability calls“. I will help deliver your EP to DSPs, pitch to playlists and create a strong release and content strategy.

You’ll do these things:

  • Get your album artwork ready

  • Schedule your weekly accountability calls with me.

  • Get any graphics you need made

  • Refine your pre-existing brand plan

  • Brainstorm content ideas and create a clear marketing/release strategy

  • Pitch to playlists and other tastemakers

You’ll achieve these things:

  • Have you’re whole EP uploaded to DSPs (Spotify, Apple Music etc.)

  • Great and professional images ready for your release campaign

  • A clear content plan for you to stick to when the EP comes out

  • A monthly set of goals and a plan on how to achieve them

FIRST SINGLE RELEASE

Now it’s time for the final stage

4) Post Release

Now that the music is coming out, we’ll get stuck in executing all the planning we have done up to this point.

You’ll do these things:

  • Execute your content and release strategy

  • Start to build an audience and fanbase as you release singles

  • Improve your strategy as you continue to release music

  • Continue your accountability calls

You’ll achieve these things:

watching your Ep get released into the world
